Data Quality Assessment on a Data Warehouse and KPI Assessment on Its Users
Formlabs, one of the largest 3D printer manufacturers in the world, tasked me with examining their data warehouse to determine its properties (volume, usage, users, queries and data quality) and survey the people that engaged with the data to derive common business reporting metrics and key performance indicators.
The goal was to find issues and missed opportunities from the data. By deconstructing and evaluating the worth of key performance indicators, an additional goal was to find issues and missed opportunities from the business practices associated with the data.
With these insights, I would later generate a 100-page “State of Data” report and presentation for company C-suite executives highlighting best-performing areas as well as concrete recommendations that prioritized strategy to improve existing processes and metrics.
